A flying robot - "GimBall"

Robust flying robots have been developed to study the physical interaction between flying robots and their environment. 

Having studied about robotics, robots which are ground based are less advantageous as compared to those which are capable of flying in cluttered environments. 




These flying robots are made up of rotating protective cage, that helps them in maintaining stability even during collisions.It can fly in the cluttered environments without harming its body. 



This flying robot is developed and created by a team at the "Swiss Federal Institute of Technology" in Lausanne. The machine can navigate through cramped and cluttered environments, with the use of a compass, altitude sensor and novel gyroscopic system, maintaining stability even during collisions.
